3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Safari : The 3-day Uganda safari to Murchison Falls National Park is for chimpanzee trekking in Kaniyo Pabidi, seeing the Murchison Falls, which are said to be the world\’s strongest falls, and a game drive to look for wildlife animals and bird species. So, you will be able to see Elephants, caped buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Oribis, Warthogs, Rothschild giraffes, chimpanzees and other primates in Budongo forest reserve, Hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, and many bird species that will make your safari an unforgettable experience.

Day 1; Pick from Entebbe international air / Kampala — Drive to Murchison falls national park — Hiking to the top of the falls

You\’ll be picked up at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala, given an overview of your trip, and then driven to the northwestern Murchison Falls National Park. Before you get to the park, you will stop in Masindi town for drinks and lunch. After that, you will continue driving to Murchison falls national park.

Before you go to your reserved lodge, you will hike to the top of the falls to see what is said to be the world\’s strongest falls and to watch the Victoria Nile river as it squeezes through a narrow gorge of about 7 meters wide and drops 43 meters, making the ground shake and vibrate and showing the beauty of nature. Later, go to your booked lodge to check in, have dinner, and stay the night.

Day 2; Murchison Falls national park — Early morning game drive — Afternoon boat cruise — Evening game drive

Wake up early to eat breakfast and meet your car guide for your early morning game drive. This morning game drive will give you a chance to see a lot of animals, mostly big predators like spotted hyenas, lions, leopards, and elephants, before they go to their hiding places. You may also get a chance to see one of the \”big five\” animals, like lions, leopards, cape buffalo, and elephants.

During your morning game drive, you will see a variety of small and large animals, such as the Oribis, Rothschild\’s giraffe, Jackson hartebeests, Bushbucks, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, and others, as well as many species of birds. After your game drive, go back to your lodge to relax, eat lunch, and then go on a memorable boat cruise down the River Nile. This will give you a chance to see hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, many bird species, and other animals swimming and drinking water along the river\’s edge.

Boat Cruise on Murchison Falls

This afternoon boat cruise safari will take you just a few meters from the bottom of the falls, giving you a beautiful view of the Murchison falls and making your three-day Uganda safari an experience you will never forget. After your afternoon boa cruise safari, have a snack and then go on your evening game drive. This is when you\’ll look for the big predators in the park, like spotted hyenas, leopards, lions, and others. You\’ll also see many mammals going back to their hiding places, like Uganda Kobs getting ready for the night.

Day 3; Murchison falls national park — Morning chimpanzee trekking — Return Entebbe international airport/ Kampala

After breakfast on this day, you\’ll check out of your hotel and drive to Budongo-forest reserve, where chimpanzee trekking in Murchison falls national park takes place. There, you\’ll get a briefing on what to do and what not to do on your forest walk to look for chimpanzees, and then you\’ll follow your guide into the forest to look for chimpanzees.

During your chimpanzee trekking, you will see birds and other primates like Olive baboons, Black-and-white colobus, Blue monkey, red-tailed monkey, and you may get a chance to see nocturnal primates of the park that are most active at night, such as various forest galago species that include potto. Your local site guide will be able to tell you more about everything you will see.

Once you meet chimps, you will have up to an hour to watch them move around in the forest and ask them questions. After seeing chimpanzees, you\’ll go back to where you started and then drive to Masindi town for refreshments and lunch. After that, you\’ll drive back to Entebbe international airport for your flight home or to your home in Kampala, and your 3-day Uganda safari to Murchison falls national park will be over.
