Detailed itinerary of 4 Days Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara Safari
Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be picked up by our representative – your safari driver guide. After giving you short briefing about the safari, depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National Park – a birder’s have and a home for black and white rhinos.
Arrive in the park in time for lunch which you will enjoy at the lodge after check-in, in the afternoon you will go for a game drive, expect to see abundant wildlife including rhinos, lions, leopards, hyenas, rhinos, Rothschild giraffes and array of antelopes such as impalas, gazelles, waterbucks and dik diks among others. You will also visit Lake Nakuru for amazing views of flamingoes, these amazing birds are attracted to the lake by the abundant supply of green algae in the soda-rich waters in the lake. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Ziwa Bush Lodge.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Park
After breakfast, you depart from Lake Nakuru National Park to Maasai Mara National Reserve with a drive through the Great Rift Valley floor and western escarpments formed centuries ago due to the natural shifting of the earth’s tectonic plates. You will arrive in this iconic reserve in time for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a game viewing experience exploring the endless plains of the reserve. During the experience you will spot a variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeests, elands, gazelles among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mara Sentrim Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Game drives
Spend a full day in the endless plains of Maasai Mara National Reserve explore more of the reserve’s scenery and wildlife. During the game drives you will catch a glimpse of Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, cape buffaloes and rhinos. Other animals to lookout for include giraffes, zebras, hippos, baboons, wildebeests, gazelles, crocodiles and numerous bird species.
Maasai Mara National Reserve hosts one of the world’s most spectacular drama that is the Great Wildebeest Migration happening between July to October, in this annual movement more than one million wildebeests and hundred thousands of zebras and gazelles migrate northward from the Serengeti to Maasai Mara National Reserve. During the journey, they encounter several dangers and hazards from predators and crossing the Nile crocodile infested Mara River.

Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Have a leisurely breakfast, checkout of the lodge and head to the Maasai Community for a cultural experience. Here you will be entertained by local dances and drama, interact with the elders and get a deeper insight into their lifestyle, culture and traditions.
Later embark on a journey back to Nairobi, after lunch you will be dropped off either at the hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.
